This two hour plus module supplies a baseline introduction to the underpinning biomechanical concepts and associated mechanisms to support practitioners efficient use of Dynamic Tape Global. In addition to theoretical content, the sessions also explore practical examples of the application of Dynamic Tape Global for specific presentations and critiques alternative, contemporary taping strategies.
Delivered by the developer of Dynamic Tape Global, Ryan Kendrick, the module represents the perfect introduction to the Dynamic Tape Global education pathway, ultimately leading to accreditation. The education pathway will be explored and routes of practitioner progression, highlighted.
What will I learn:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the evolution of taping approaches, their aims and their evidence base
- Recognise the limitations of each approach with regard to managing load, movement, and the demands of function
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamentals of achieving a mechanical effect with tape, its contra-indications, and technique development
- Recognise the need for a comprehensive assessment and clinical reasoning required process and how this applies to developing the aim of the technique, as well as the technique itself, in an evidence directed manner
- Demonstrate an understanding of several clinical scenarios where taping biomechanically would be both warranted and effective
- Demonstrate an understanding of where to access further resources to develop biomechanical taping skills further
